A little bit about Denni

Denni Staff Member

Name: Denni

Disciplines: Ski, Ski Racing

Position: Instructor

I started skiing when I was in high school and I can still remember the excitement of the first trips… first trips to the dry slope at Hillend, our first trip to Snow Factor and the adjustment onto real snow before our first time on a mountain in Italy where I completely fell in love with skiing. Once that happened, there was no going back from the feeling you get when you ski and I couldn’t wait to go again.

When I got back, I started ski racing which brought out a whole different side of my competitive nature! I spent the next 6 years pushing myself and my abilities to the max with school and after leaving they asked me to come back as a helper on their next ski trip. This really piqued my interest in ski instructing and opened it up as a possible career for me so naturally, I started looking into courses that would help me achieve this immediately.

I went to Lake Louise in Canada for my first season and completed level one of my CSIA qualifications within two weeks of arriving. This allowed me to work as an instructor while I worked towards my level two which I also completed in my first year.

As soon as I got home I couldn’t wait to get back to instructing and made plans to work in Courmayeur for the coming season. This was a completely different experience but the elements I love of teaching and skiing remained the same and further cemented that this was the job for me.

For the past four years, I have worked at Snow Factor and progressed from Slope Team to Team Leader while gaining my UKCP Race Coach qualifications in the mix. I love working as an instructor particularly with smaller children where you see so much progression and how fearless and excited they are to try something new.

What Denni’s students said about her lessons on Trip Advisor

“Brilliant final ski lesson with instructor Denni. Clear instructions and helped us iron out some issues and really felt like she helped us improve our technique and even helped me use one of the boxes!!!!”

Favourite Piece of Equipment

My Rossignol Hero skis.

They are high-performance race skis and which are grippy and carvy regardless of the weather or conditions. They are great for carving down the hill and making every turn count.

Favourite Resort

Lake Louise in Canada has to be my favourite resort to ski in. It is huge with lots of steep runs which keep me on my toes all day long.

I like skiing in places that challenge me and Lake Louise does this.
