By making a booking with Snow Factor you are deemed to have read and accepted these terms & conditions. We reserve the right for employees to ask you to leave the slope if you do not abide by the details below.

In such cases no refund will be given.

Main Slope Use

Using our main slope

  • Snow Factor lifts and facilities are used at your own risk.  The Company accepts no responsibility for injury to the customer, loss or damage to customer property.
  • Access to all public areas on the main slope are unrestricted, with the use of the lifts and tows accessible to those with a valid lift pass or lesson booking.  To avoid any misunderstandings, please ensure that your lift pass is visible to our staff.
  • It is prohibited to enter areas marked for staff only, or to deface tamper or interfere with the Company’s property.  It should be noted that members of the public should use the Poma/ Button lift from the base, never from the 1/2 point on the slope.  Snow Factor lift passes only entitle users to use the Poma lifts on the main slope. The small slope is exclusively for use by lessons.
  • Lift Passes remain the property of the Company; we reserve the right to refuse entry.

Risk to safety of others

Where in our opinion we believe that a person may be causing a risk to the safety or security of the site or impairing the enjoyment of others, we reserve the right to remove that person’s Lift Pass and ask them to leave the premises.

  • Lift Passes are non-transferable and remain the property of the Company.
  • The Company reserves the right to change prices and services at any time and without notification.
  • The company retains the right to close all or any of its lifts at any time and without notification.

Minimum requirements to use our slope

The Lift Pass is sold subject to the user compliance with the FIS Snowsport Safety Code, specifically, that you can:

  • Fit your boots correctly
  • Use the POMA / Button Lift safely and appropriately
  • Link turns with confidence
  • Control your speed.

You will be assumed to have declared yourself of this standard when purchasing a lift pass. If you are unsure about your ability or have any questions regarding minimum competency standards please ask for advice before booking.

Your safety is our over-riding priority here at Snow Factor.

  • Helmets are mandatory for all customers and are provided free of charge.
  • Gloves are also mandatory for all customers. Gloves can be bought at the reception desk within Snow Factor if required.
  • Only sledges provided by Snow Factor may be used on our sledging slope. These are provided free of charge.
  • We require all skiers and snowboarders to be able to comply with our basic safety requirements.

Ice Climbing

By making a booking for uninstructed activity on the ice wall you certify that:

  • You can put on a climbing harness correctly
  • Attach a rope to the harness in a suitable climbing knot
  • Use a belay device to secure a falling climber and lower the climber from the ice wall

You certify that to the best of your knowledge:

  • You do not suffer from a medical condition which might have the effect of making it more likely that you become involved in an accident which could result in injury to yourself or others.
  • You understand that failure to exercise due care could result in injury or death.

Please note: Climbers new to Snow Factor are required to participate in an ice wall induction with one of our instructors.  If you have completed an induction at our sister site Ice Factor you are automatically inducted at Snow Factor.

Pricing Policies

Peak/Off Peak Policy

At Snow Factor we operate a Peak/Off Peak pricing policy. We have outlined this below for your convenience.

Off Peak

  • Monday – Thursday all day
  • Friday until 6pm


  • Friday from 6pm
  • Saturday & Sunday all day
  • School and Bank Holidays


We define a concession as being:

  • Someone under 16 years of age
  • Over 65 years of age
  • Full time Students

Please Note: We reserve the right to ask for ID to confirm you meet our concession criteria and to refuse entry without refund should this not be provided.


To ensure the safety of all slope users, only our fully qualified Snow Factor instructors are permitted to teach or provide coaching on our slopes or lifts at any time.

All instruction at Snow Factor is provided by The Adventure Trust.

We do not allow individuals or private coaches to teach in our centre.

You must meet the FIS recreational standard to use our main slope or book lessons to reach this standard prior to booking your lift pass.

Clothing & Equipment

Ski/Snowboard Clothing & Equipment

You are welcome to bring your own ski/snowboard equipment.  Please be aware that Snow Factor does not accept liability for any damage to personal equipment. Snow Factor equipment can be hired for a small charge if required.

For safety and comfort, helmets, gloves, full-length trousers and long sleeve tops must be worn at all times on the slope. We advise that you wear waterproof jackets and trousers, which can be hired from our clothing rental department. For hygiene reasons, gloves, socks and face coverings are available to purchase only.

Please note: Ski boots are worn in Bar Varia Restaurant & Bier Halle at your own risk.


Head protection (PPE UIAA Standard) is available from the Rental Desk and is required for all slope users. Helmets are compulsory for all users unless excused upon medical grounds. All customers on any activity, all freestyle and mogul users, and anyone involved in any type of racing or race training must wear a proper ski/snowboard approved helmet. This must fit correctly and must be fastened at all times.


For health and safety reasons, only Snow Factor sledges may be used. These are free of charge to use on our sledging sessions.

Please note: ski/board boots are not complimentary for sledging sessions.

Clothing & Equipment Return

It should be noted that failure to return your equipment or hired clothing (skis and poles, snowboards, ski/board boots, salopettes, ski jacket and helmet) we will charge the full amount to your payment card.  Please ensure that you hand your clothing and equipment to a member of staff when you are finished with them.

Medical Conditions and Requirements

If you have an existing medical condition which you think may affect your safety/the safety of others and/or your ability to meet minimum competency, please seek proper medical advice before visiting Snow Factor.

Please note:

Snow Factor activities are not recommended for those who have heart, back or neck conditions, or customers who are pregnant.

In the absence of negligence or fraudulent misrepresentation, neither Snow Factor nor its employees/agents shall be responsible for the death, personal injury or illness of any customer, or damage to equipment or clothing whilst on Snow Factor premises.

For the safety of our customers, Snow Factor reserves the right to ask any customer to leave the premises if we believe them to be under the influence of drink or drugs, to be behaving irresponsibly, or to be endangering other slope users with their behaviour.

In all such cases mentioned in this section, no refunds will be given.


Junior rates are only applicable to children under 16 years of age; those of 16 years and over are charged at adult rates.

Snow Factor reserves the right to require proof of age.

All under-16’s must wear a helmet for all activities (available free to use from our rental department).

All under-16’s must be accompanied by a full paying adult at all times whilst on Snow Factor premises unless they are taking part in a supervised activity or are 10-15 years old and meet minimum competency or recreational standards. This extends to under-10’s participating in lessons.

Parents or guardians must remain on the premise for the duration of the lesson/activity.

Adults shall be held responsible for any damage caused by the children they accompany whilst on Snow Factor premises.

For safety, we recommend that children under 10 years old using the main slope should be accompanied by a full paying adult who is also competent to the agreed minimum standard to use the slope.

Spectators / Photographers / CCTV

There is no dedicated spectator area on the slope; we advise all customers to use Bar Varia or the viewing deck.

Snow Factor accepts no responsibility for spectators going onto the slope and reserves the right to ask any spectators to leave.

No spectators are allowed to walk or stand on the Link Bridge – it is restricted for use only by Skiers and Snowboarders.

Photographic, video and other recording equipment should not be taken onto the slope.

Photography within the Snow Factor area is only permitted with prior consent – please ask a member of staff for details.

Please be advised we have CCTV throughout the centre for the purposes of crime prevention which complies with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Occasionally third parties including the press record images of events at Snow Factor. In such circumstances, notices will be displayed to advise customers of any filming/photography to be carried out where your image may appear.

In addition, we may record your images for advertising and/or marketing purposes.


All calls to our 0141 885 7000 number are charged at a local rate.

When booking through any channel you will be asked for a telephone number in case of accident or emergency and an email address for updates on your booking.

Bookings made via our Call Centre and website incur a £1.99 booking fee – this is non-refundable.

Full payment must be made before a booking is confirmed.

All Gift Voucher sales are final, no order cancellations or refunds will be given for purchases made by customer error.

We reserve the right to change our Terms and Conditions at any point.

Cancellations / Booking Amendments

If you need to alter your booking, we require a minimum of 5 days notice to allow for a transfer.  We are not issuing refunds for cancelled bookings at this time. If a booking is made within this time frame no transfer or cancellations are possible. For corporate, group and school bookings a minimum of 10 days is required.  All transfers and cancellations will incur a £5 administration fee.  No transfer will be given within 5 days of your booking and no refund will be given for any non-attendance.

Please Note: Due to this challenging period following the Covid-19 outbreak, we want to make it easier to move your booking with us. As such, we will not be able to issue a refund for any bookings made however we have waived the £5 administration fee and the 5 day notice period. We are also happy to both move booking values to Gift Vouchers and extend the validity on any pre-purchased Gift Vouchers to allow you time to recover. Our team are here to help and will be happy to move your booking forward to a date that suits.


Authorised refunds will be processed within 28 days to the original payment card.

Please Note: Due to this challenging period following the Covid-19 outbreak, we want to make it easier to move your booking with us. As such, we will not be able to issue a refund for any bookings made however we have waived the £5 administration fee and the 5 day notice period. We are also happy to both move booking values to Gift Vouchers and extend the validity on any pre-purchased Gift Vouchers to allow you time to recover. Our team are here to help and will be happy to move your booking forward to a date that suits.

Gift Vouchers

Vouchers are valid for 6 months from the issue date, the expiry date is clearly noted on the front of your gift voucher

All voucher sales are final

Our vouchers may be used at Snow Factor, Baltic Ice Bar or our sister company, Ice Factor.

Gift Vouchers can be redeemed over the phone or at reception.

If you have extenuating circumstances which prevent you from using your vouchers during the validity period, please call us on 0141 885 7000 before your vouchers expire.

Our team will be able to accept a future booking, with the activity booked taking place after your vouchers have expired.

Failure to contact us before your vouchers expire will invalidate your gift vouchers, no refund will be given for expired vouchers.

All change over the value of £0.99 will be issued in voucher form.

Snow Factor will not be responsible for any loss of or damage to gift vouchers and photocopies will not be accepted. Please treat Snow Factor gift vouchers as if they were cash as the balance cannot be returned to you if it is lost or stolen.

If your voucher has expired, you may extend you voucher for an admin fee within 30 days of the expiry date. Please contact us us at customercare@snowfactor.com for details.

Please Note: Due to this challenging period following the Covid-19 outbreak, we want to make it easier to move your booking with us. As such, we are happy to extend the validity on any pre-purchased Gift Vouchers and have waived our administration fee. Our team are here to help and will be happy to extend this for you should you need. We will also waive our administration fee to extend the validity period but we do ask that you contact us prior to the original expiry date.

Abusive Behaviour Towards Our Staff

We ask that customers are courteous to our staff at all times.

Please remember that our staff are here to help you, and will always do their best to ensure that you are treated fairly and respectfully.  Likewise, we expect the same to be applied to our team. Our staff are entitled to work at Snow Factor without fear or intimidation.

Please be aware that Snow Factor will not tolerate abusive or harassing behaviour directed at our staff.  Any person found to be abusive to our team will be asked to leave or banned from the premises.

We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any third parties.  You can view our full policy here.

Special Events / Slope Closures

Parts of the slope may be sectioned off at times for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to special events, sledging/snow tubing activities or essential maintenance work. Please check before booking/arrival for up-to-date information on forthcoming activities or closures.

Personal Belongings

We provide lockers (£1 non-returnable) to store your personal items and valuables while you are on the slope. Snow Factor nor its employees or agents are responsible for any loss, theft or damage to valuables or personal property that belongs to any visitor whilst on Snow Factor premises.


Snow Factor reserves the right to make changes to all activities and prices at any time.
