Yes! We have 16 snow cannons in the roof gantry which fire cooled water into air which has been chilled to -4°c. This makes REAL snow – tonnes of it several times a week!
The snow on the main slope is nearly 1.5m deep. Every night, after close, the snow is groomed with a Kassbohrer Piste 100 machine to ensure perfect conditions for the next day.
Very! The slope is housed in a giant freezer with a ground temperature of -12°c and an air temperature of up to -4°c.

No. For everyone’s safety/insurance purposes we only allow qualified Snow Factor instructors to teach on our slopes.
Yes. To guarantee your preferred sessions we recommend pre-booking for all our activities as everything is subject to availability and limited capacities.
To qualify for a concession discount on our Lift Passes and Lessons, you must be a Junior (under 16), a Student with a valid student ID or a Senior (over 65).
All the businesses within Soar INTU Braehead are independent, but if you are coming along in a group we can organise several activities for you. Just give our team a call on 0141 885 7000 or drop us an email.
Go to our main reception desk to collect your slope passes, then get your clothing and get changed. Next collect boots/equipment and once kitted up go to the lesson or sledging meeting points. Main slope pass holders can get on the slopes at their specified time.
We recommend that you arrive 45 minutes before to make sure that you are checked in, changed and ready to begin your activity on time.
Helmets are provided FREE and must be worn and fastened correctly at all times in our slope. All snowsport hardware (skis, poles, snowboards and ski/board boots) are available for hire from us for a small fee should it be required.
Please note: You are welcome to use your own ski/snowboard kit, but sledges must be provided by Snow Factor for health and safety reasons; these are free to use.
You need to wear warm waterproof clothing, including gloves, for all activities and wellington boots are recommended for sledging activities.
There are changing rooms, showers and toilets. Lockers are also available for a £1 non-refundable fee.
Yes, but only in a family private lesson or family taster lesson. All other group lessons are taught in age bands (3yrs, 4-6yrs, 7-12yrs, and Teens/Adults 13+) as this assists learning.
All of our instructors are qualified and have at least a Basi 1 or Casi 1 certification. We foster and develop all levels of ski and board instruction. All instruction is provided by The Adventure Trust.
Vouchers can only be applied with a telephone booking or at reception. Call 0141 885 7000 to pre-book and remember to bring your vouchers with you on the day.
Snow Factor gift vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. They can be used for any slope activity, Baltic Ice Bar, at our sister site Ice Factor, and to buy merchandise.
Yes, if you fill in a disclaimer form when you arrive to check in. We also ask that you try and photograph only the people in your party.
Yes. Bar Varia has panoramic windows that overlook the slope as well as cosy couches, a wood-burning stove, a Wi-Fi connection and a gourmet coffee and cake menu. There is also a viewing deck that can be accessed from the bar.
