SSSA Indoor Slalom

As part of last week’s announcement about the disappointing cancellation of the 2017 SSSA Alpine Series, we indicated that SnowSport Scotland would be scheduling an extra indoor event, so as to provide Alpine Racing for all our Scottish Schools.

All Scottish Schools Snowsports events are jointly run by the Scottish Schools Snowsports Association and the National Governing Body for Snowsports in Scotland, Snowsport Scotland. Every event follows strict safety and risk assessment protocols to ensure the safety well being and protection of all competitors, and should anyone have any concerns or questions regarding this matter they should contact Snowsport Scotland on 0131 625 4405.

Wednesday 15th March Primary Schools Race
Thursday 16th March Secondary Schools Race

This indoor event will be set as a combination of Slalom and Giant Slalom style turns and a mini feature (jump) half-way.  The event will include a skier’s course inspection followed by two timed runs per competitor.  Two courses will be set with Females skiing one course and Males on the other.

Course Inspection will be from outside of the racing line to prevent unnecessary wear on the course.  There is no Novice specific category but novices are encouraged to enter and form part of the school teams.
