The Rules in place to keep you safe

Things to note

Changes to the Centre

As you might expect, we have made some changes to our centre to make it Covid Safe. Below is a list of the updates that have taken place that you should be aware of.

  • Wearing a Mask or an alternative face covering is mandatory (buffs are fine but they must be worn over your nose and mouth at all times on our premises). There will be no exceptions to this rule and those not wearing one will be asked to leave without refund. We ask that you consider this before purchasing an activity with us as our team will be strict on this front to protect staff and visitors.
  • We ask that you bring your own equipment if you have it to reduce volume at rental and avoid being charged for equipment hire.
  • Please come dressed to ski as changing facilities will be reduced to allow for social distancing.
  • We ask that you sanitise your hands before entering our centre and throughout your visit.
  • Please follow the one way system using the signage in the centre.

What we ask of you

  • Book online if you can and pay by card where possible in the centre.
  • Please do not come to the centre if you feel unwell or if you, or any of your household are displaying symptoms of Covid-19. This is to protect both our staff and our visitors (and those that they return home to when they leave us).
  • Please arrive 10min before your lift pass start time if ready to go, 15min prior if you need to collect equipment and 20min prior if you need to change or hire clothing.
  • If possible, please come ready to ski (or board!). Changing facilities have been reduced to allow social distancing.
  • If you have your own equipment we ask that you bring it. This will reduce volume at the rental desk and avoid you being charged for equipment hire.
  • Masks are compulsory at all times throughout your visit and use the hand sanitiser and washing facilities available.
  • We ask that you give both our visitors and staff 2m social distancing.
  • Only one member per party at reception please.

Using the Slope

Once you are checked in

  • We ask that you stay 2m from our team.
  • They will set up your equipment for you if required and instruct you to your meeting point or the slope.
  • Please then move straight to the designated wait point and put your boots on before proceeding to the slope or being collected by your instructor.

Coming off the slope

  • Equipment Return will be in the airlock between the slope and the changing village. Please leave all of your hire equipment here for our team to sanitise including boots and helmets.
  • Follow the one way system to the changing village to change and collect your bags/shoes before following it up the stairs and back out on the first floor of the centre.

Additional Safety Precautions

  • We have appointed a Covid Officer at Snow Factor following the successful completion of training with Snowsport Scotland. More information can be found on our Covid Updates page.
  • We will be temperature checking our staff on arrival and departure from the building and issuing them masks. We are doing our best to look after our staff and we ask that you do so too by maintaining a 2m distance from them.
  • Equipment will be sterilised between usage, please do not touch equipment once it has been placed in the drop off point.
  • Before lockdown we added hand sanitiser stations throughout the centre. We ask that you use these before coming into contact with staff or equipment and throughout your visit.
  • An intensive clean rota has been established to ensure high traffic areas such as door handles and handrails are cleaned more often.
Reviewed weekly

Area’s Yet to Reopen

We are working towards being fully operational throughout the centre however to begin with some areas will remain closed to the public. We have outlined these below and will review on a weekly basis.

  • Lessons – Coming back soon!
  • Sledging – Coming back soon!
  • Baltic Ice Bar – Due to the continuing restrictions on space and opening times, our Ice Bar will remain closed for the time being.
  • The Balcony – Viewing will not be allowed from the balcony itself although dinners will still be able to see the slope from the slopeside tables.
  • The Bridge – Slope users will be unable to access the bar from the slope. This is to reduce people flow and ensure track and trace is completed on entry to the bar.
  • The Ice Wall – Our Ice wall will remain closed with the view of reopening shortly to experienced climbers only then to lessons in the near future. This will be a phased return to operations so check back soon for more info.
  • Reduction in Changing Facilities – Some of our lockers and changing cubicles will be closed to ensure social distancing is possible. Our changing rooms will remain open for both ladies and gents.
  • Snow Dogz – Snow Dogz will be back, but not quite yet. We need a significant amount of space to accommodate our doggy play park, and although we are desperate to run another session, we do need to work around the space and schedule of the slope to do so. We will start our sessions back again soon and will keep you updated on socials and our mailing list. Those who already have a session booked will be moved to our new dates when they are available. Our team will be in touch to move your booking.
  • Our Conference Rooms – Our conference and party rooms will remain closed to the public but we will reopen as soon as possible.
