The athletes practiced on the fresh snow in Scotland’s only indoor real snow sports resort under the watchful eye of Hamish McKnight, GB Park & Pipe Head Snowboard Coach.

McKnight explained the purpose of the indoor training session:  “After an intense summer training programme and with Europe’s World Cup season just round the corner, sliding into Snow Factor gives the athletes and the coaching team the chance to fine-tune technique in real snow conditions.  It’s vital preparation for the season ahead.

The British Park & Pipe squad periodically use Snow Factor to train with Billy Morgan (2016 X-Games medallist), Aimee Fuller, Katie Ormerod, Matt McCormick and Ben Kilner among riders previously hosted by the facility.

Members of the British Park & Pipe squad are also expected to be in attendance on Friday 20 October when Snow Factor hosts the prize-giving of Championship Ski & Snowboard (CSS).

The brainchild of McKnight, the competition platform is in the format of an online video league in which team’s of riders from across the UK submit brief footage of their best tricks and aerials for judging and scoring.  Freestyle teams from Snow Factor, Aberdeen and Bearsden (Glasgow) are among those vying for the top spot that will conclude this month.
