Bar Varia Scoops Up Best Bar None Award for a Second Year

For the second consecutive year, Bar Varia, the family friendly Bavarian styled restaurant and bier halle within Snow Factor Braehead has scooped a gold award and won the Independent Bar category at the prestigious Renfrewshire Best Bar None Awards 2016-2017.

Bar Varia, renowned for the quality of its food offering, including tasty Bavarian platters and range of premium German beers, hopes this latest accolade will help the popular restaurant progress to the annual national final.

Mick McManus, Group F&B Manager, Ice Factor International, commented: “Personally, I’m really pleased that Bar Varia has again won the Independent Bar category. It underlines the consistency of our offering as a safe, responsible and welcoming restaurant and bier halle.”

Paisley born McManus, who has been working at the venue for the past eight years, added: “At a time when the licensed trade is under pressure to operate successfully, this award shows that we are good at what we do.  I think we have the team and the products to provide an environment where families and individuals can socialise in a relaxed atmosphere.

“While customers enjoy our premium German bottled and craft beers, we are also consistently seeing demand for our quality food offering and customer requests for our range of alcohol free beers, soft drinks and coffee.”

The Best Bar None Awards is a joint initiative between Police Scotland and Renfrewshire Council. It was introduced in 2012 to reward venues that provide a safe and welcoming environment for local residents to enjoy responsible drinking.

The awards are based on core national standards with flexibility to address local needs. It also encourages pubs, clubs and bars to work with the Council and Police Scotland to prevent crime and disorder.
