As the school summer holidays beckon, kids’ have the perfect chance to have an ‘ice time and practice ski and snowboarding skills at Snow Factor Braehead with the return of its popular week-long Snow Camps.

Designed for beginner to expert skiers and snowboarders aged from 7-15 years old, the full-day supervised weekly (5-day) sessions promise fun-filled adventure whatever the holiday weather!

Places are already filling up fast for the Atomic Ambition Camp (£80pp per day).  Held for the first time in Scotland, the course at the end of June will help budding young alpine racers improve every aspect of their skiing.

“We’re also proud to be selected to host Scotland’s first 4-day Atomic-Ambition Camp, during which young alpine ski racers will have the chance to improve their race technique under the guidance of expert coaches.”

The Snow Camps are held on over 2,000 tonnes of real snow within Scotland’s only indoor real snow facility that in addition to the cosy Tyrolean styled café bar also features a main (170m long) and kindergarten slope with uplift, a sledging and ice-luge run and even an ice-climbing wall.

A number of different Snow Camps can be pre-booked; a ‘rookie’ (beginner), ‘rider’ (intermediate), ‘pro’ (experienced) and ‘freestyle’ camp.  Held from Monday-Friday each week, busy parents drop their child(ren) off at 830am and collect them at 530pm.

A week long, full day (8 hour) Snow Camp costs £239pp and is fully inclusive of expert instruction, equipment, slope pass, lunch and refreshments / snacks during breaks.  The Camps include additional afternoon activities within the intu complex. There is a 30% Snow Camp discount for members of Snow Factor and a 10% discount for siblings.

Rookie Camp

Dates: Week commencing Mon 29 June; Mon 6th July; Mon 13 July; Mon 27th July

An introductory course for 7-15 years old aimed at beginner skiers and boarders to work through a progressively structured lesson package to achieve recreational standard.

Rider Camp

Dates: Week commencing Mon 29 June; Mon 6th July; Mon 13th July; Mon 27th July

A camp for skiers and boarders 7-15 years old who either meet recreational standard or have passed their level 7 lesson. The camp aims to build on existing skills and technique.

Pro Camp

Dates: Week commencing Mon 13 July; Mon 20th July

Aimed at all aspiring Pro’s aged 7-15 years old who are at level 7 of above. This camp will work on existing techniques and introduce race, slalom and slope style skills.

Freestyle Camp

Dates: Week commencing Mon 13th July; Mon 20th July; Mon 3rd August

A camp aimed at children aged 7-15 years old who have passed level 5/6. This camp will look at advancing the freestyle elements of both skiing and snowboarding.

Atomic-Ambition Ski Racing Camp

Date: Mon 29 June until 2 July (4 days). Cost £80pp per day (10am-4pm daily)

The camp is designed to improve every aspect of a young racers’ skiing. Each day will consist of different challenges, some will be individual, some as teams and others simply against the clock.  The Atomic-Ambition Camp includes lunch.  Participants should bring their own water bottle and fitness clothing for the morning pre-ski warm up session.
