With the promise of skiers, snowboarders and sledgers of all ages and ability able to enjoy tonnes of perfectly groomed snow throughout the year, every day can seem like Christmas at Snow Factor in SOAR at INTU Braehead.

Scotland’s only indoor real snow facility, complete with two tows, slopes for skiing, snowboarding and even an ice-luge and 14 metre high ice-wall, is once again ready to ensure children, families and in fact snow-sport fans of all ages enjoy some extra special festive fun.

On Saturday (15 November) Paisley town centre will be the setting for some early winter fun for children as part of the Paisley Christmas Lights Switch On.  From 12 noon-6pm and for the 5th year, Snow Factor will create a very special snow-filled outdoor sledging slope and beach.

CHRISTMAS SNOW-LW

From Saturday 29 November Santa and his elves will again settle into his snowy grotto on the slope, ready to welcome children and offer a small present in the company of a parent / guardian.  Booking are made on a first come first served basis. The cost is £15 per child but on the opening weekend (29 / 30 November) a visit is only £10 per child.

For a truly memorable Santa experience, there’s also the option for brunch, lunch or dinner with Santa Claus.  For £26pp a child receives brunch, lunch or dinner plus a gift, 30 minutes of sledging and will enjoy (as part of a group) a short story reading from Santa.

Adults can also enter the festive spirit with a Christmas party in the relaxing, apres-ski ambience of the Bavarian styled Bar Varia café bar that overlooks the slope. For £19.95pp and every Friday or Saturday before Christmas, festive revellers can enjoy a 3-course set menu of traditional and Bavarian Christmas cuisine. Bar Varia is also a delightful cosy setting to kick back and relax with a warm mulled wine or steaming mug of hot chocolate after an enjoyable ski, snowboard, ice-luge or even ice-climb!

Following its success last year, those who wish to celebrate New Year’s Day snowboarding or on skis can once again enjoy a package of lift pass and a full traditional Scottish breakfast for just £25pp (early bird pass if pre-booked before 22 December) and £30 on the day.

Of course, if the aim is to learn or brush up on ski or snowboarding skills in preparation for a winter holiday, Snow Factor’s pristine slopes and expert instructors always provide the ideal setting to practice.

Finally, before the festive fun gets underway there will be further serious racing action at Snow Factor when on 26 & 27 November the facility hosts over 200 competitors for the annual Scottish Schools Indoor Snow Cross Championships.
